My relationship with yoga is constantly evolving, but my reason for practicing has always been the same.
To Ground. Connect. Tune in.

I was first introduced to yoga in college but committed to the practice in a new way while training for the Chicago Marathon in 2011.
Both long distance running and yoga gave me space; the feeling of being small, and expansive, at the same time.
In 2013 I dove into a year long teacher training at Moksha Yoga in Chicago. Throughout the year, I was introduced to various styles, but I fell in love with Ashtanga and Yoga Nidra. Ashtanga gave me structure and grounding; I loved the self-led, silence of the mysore room. Yoga nidra was really my first introduction to yoga through a feminine lens. It felt nurturing, healing, and honestly…like some sort of magic. Though the deepest part of me immediately loved the practice, another part of me was resistant. There was a little voice saying if I was going to a yoga class I should be doing more.
Hesitant to commit to any “one form” as the end-all be-all, I continued to dabble in various styles of yoga, meditation, and movement in general in an effort to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives.
These days, what I practice (and teach) is a reflection of that. My most notable influences are probably my prenatal/postnatal training with Amala School of Yoga, yoga philosophy studies with Lila Lolling, Yoga Nidra with Uma Dinsmore Tuli, and my own experiences through pregnancy, birth, and motherhood - all of which have made my practice more fluid and intuitive.
All of this gets to the heart of why I love yoga so much: it is whatever you need it to be. It meets you exactly where you are. In its shape shifting, there have been several times over the years where I’ve felt like I was “losing my practice” or moving away from it. But it’s become clear that, really, its presence in my life is the strongest it’s been. It just doesn’t always look the way it used to.
At the moment, all of my offerings are virtual. Check back here for new audio releases and seasonal offerings. Thanks for sharing space with me.
